I'm Ally, and I'm a girl who loves quite a few things. I love to read and write. I'm a gigantic fangirl (be warned, here there be British men with amazing hair and cheekbones) I love smashing the patriarchy! I love to discover new music. I love to think. I love to laugh. I love to dream. I believe in magic.

Just a reference sheet for my followers. Seen a lot of people throwing around ‘Feminism’ as encompassing the ideals of all the movements, when that is in fact not the case. Modern feminism =/= Civil Rights feminism =/= Suffrage feminism.

3rd wave feminism makes me cry openly at night

This isn’t actually true! What you’re thinking of is radical third-wave feminism. Third-wave feminism has been around since the early 1990s. (The term was first coined in 1993 by Rebecca Walker.) It focuses on equality for all genders, sexes, races, ethnicities, and sexualities. It also supports sex-positivity and challenges the idea formed during second-wave feminism that participants in pornography and sex work are always being exploited. There are many different strains of third-wave feminism, but they commonly deal with these issues along with reproductive rights, gender-related violence, and slut-shaming and rape culture. (Also, rape culture is definitely a thing that exists and is a big part of American culture, unfortunately. Why is it listed in the picture like it’s a bad thing?)
Another note: why are all three of the women in this picture white? WOC have always been a major part of feminism.

Liar.

Two kinds of people in this world. The people that admit to mourning the death of a fictional character and the dirty fucking liars

imagine a muggleborn in hogwarts starts singing Bohemian Rhapsody under their breath and then another muggleborn notices and starts singing along

and then suddenly all the muggleborns in the area are belting out the lyrics and head banging and every single pureblood is left utterly confused

Also, fun fact: being nice to someone you hate does NOT make you two faced

it makes you a mature adult who knows when to pick their battles and when to just let it go and tolerate someone for their shitty personality.

if you think otherwise grow up

SO MANY PEOPLE TO SHOW THIS TO IT ACTUALLY HURTS ME

I just want to give my two cents on this and tell you a story.

A couple weeks ago, I was hired at Target. I have a job at Target. Not a big deal right?

It is a big deal because i’m a transman

It doesn’t take a genius to conclude that it’s hard for me, my brothers, and sisters to get a job. There are legal restraints regarding the job and if you don’t pass, it’s hard to be taken seriously at a job interview.

Right on the application, it asks what your preferred name is. It also asks if there is anything that target should know. I put the fact that I am a transman, expecting not to get a call because usually when you put that down, people will throw out the application. I got TWO interviews.

At the interview, they asked me about it. I told them I am on hormones and they told me that they didn’t care. Not in the sense that they don’t emotionally care, but that it didn’t matter. I was male and that’s all that mattered. They also told me that they give sex same couples benefits in states that do not recognize them as a married couple.

At my job orientation, I was not misgendered once. Even my supervisors who weren’t sure of my gender avoided pronoun use, which I found only happens when you’ve had pronoun training. They gave me a name tag with my preferred name and didn’t ask questions. I felt safe and respected, which is huge for a trans* person.

TLDR: Target is amazing not just for the LGB, but also the T. Shop there for the rest of your life.

Awesome!

wow this is awesome
